Terms of Service
The agreement between Lynq and the businesses that use it to accept payments online.
Last updated 26 October 2026
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between Lynq ("we") and the business that creates a Lynq account ("you"). By creating an account or using Lynq you accept them. If you accept them on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
What Lynq does, and what it does not
Lynq is payment software. It connects your website to the bank VPOS and other payment methods you already have, so customers can pay inside your own checkout. Lynq provides the checkout, the API, the SDK and the dashboard.
- Lynq is not a bank and does not hold, receive or transfer your money. Your bank settles payments to your account directly.
- Your agreement with your bank, including its fees, settlement terms, chargebacks and refund rules, stays between you and your bank.
- Lynq is not a party to the sale between you and your customer. You are responsible for the goods and services you sell.
Your account
- Lynq is for businesses. You must be at least 18, and the business details you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
- We may ask for information to verify your business before or after you go live, and may decline or limit an account we cannot verify.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password secure and tell us at once at [email protected] if you suspect someone else has access.
API keys, test mode and live mode
Your account has test and live API keys. Test mode lets you build against Lynq without moving real money; payments made with test keys are never charged. Keep your secret keys on your server and never expose them in a browser, an app or a public repository. Anything done with your keys is treated as done by you. If a key is exposed, roll it in the dashboard straight away.
Your responsibilities
- Run a lawful business and comply with the laws that apply to it, your bank agreement and the rules of the card networks and payment methods you accept.
- Show your customers clear prices, terms, refund policy and a privacy notice that covers the payment data processed through Lynq.
- Handle refunds, disputes and customer service for your sales.
- Integrate Lynq as our documentation describes, and confirm each payment on your server, using the API or a signed webhook, before you fulfil an order.
- Collect card details only through Lynq Checkout. Do not ask customers for card numbers or security codes on your own pages, and do not put card data or other sensitive personal data in payment metadata.
What you may not do
- Use Lynq for illegal goods or services, fraud, money laundering, or any business your bank or the card networks prohibit.
- Process payments for another business, or resell access to Lynq, without our written agreement.
- Interfere with Lynq: probe, scan or load-test it, get around its security or limits, or access it other than through the API, dashboard and SDK we provide.
- Copy, modify or reverse engineer Lynq, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
Data
Your payment data belongs to you. When your customers pay through Lynq, you are the processor of their personal data and you assign us to process it on your behalf, as an authorised person under Article 14 of the Law on Protection of Personal Data. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect that data and for telling your customers how it is used. This section is that written assignment.
Processing your customers' personal data
- Purpose. To authorise and record payments your customers make through Lynq Checkout, show them in your dashboard, send you webhooks, and keep payments secure and prevent fraud. We process the data for no other purpose.
- Legal grounds and conditions. Your agreement with your customer for the sale, and these terms. We process the data only on your instructions, which are these terms and how you use the API and dashboard. If we think an instruction breaks the law, we will tell you in writing and not follow it.
- Data subjects. People who pay you through Lynq Checkout.
- Personal data. Card number, expiry date, security code and cardholder name, used only to authorise the payment; the card brand and last four digits; payment amount, currency, status, your order reference and any metadata you attach; and technical data such as IP address and browser.
- Recipients. Your bank, and through it the card networks or the payment method your customer chose; and the service providers that host and run Lynq, under confidentiality and security obligations at least as strict as these. We may change these service providers.
- Security measures. TLS on every connection; AES-256 encryption of payment method credentials and webhook secrets; hashing of passwords and API keys; never storing full card numbers or security codes; and access to personal data only for people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential.
- Leaks. If your customers' personal data leaks from our systems, we will tell you without delay, and publish a notice and report it to the Personal Data Protection Agency and the Police as the law requires.
- Requests. We will help you answer your customers' requests to access, correct, block or delete their data within the time limits the law sets, and pass on to you any request we receive directly.
- End of processing. When your account is closed, we delete or anonymise your customers' personal data, except payment records the law requires us to keep.
Fees
Lynq is currently free to use. If we introduce fees, we will tell you at least 30 days before they apply, and you can close your account before then without paying them. Fees your bank charges for processing payments are separate and stay between you and your bank.
Availability and changes to Lynq
We work to keep Lynq available and secure, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to pause it for maintenance, ideally with notice. Lynq will change over time; if a change would break a working integration, we will give you reasonable notice first, unless the change is needed for security or to comply with the law.
Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using Lynq at any time, and close your account by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close your account, or stop specific payments, if you break these terms, if your bank or the law requires it, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or a risk to Lynq, your customers or others. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. After closing, the sections on data, intellectual property, liability and disputes continue to apply.
Intellectual property
Lynq, including its software, checkout, documentation and brand, belongs to us. While your account is open, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the API, SDK and checkout to accept payments for your business. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
Disclaimers
Lynq is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that Lynq will suit a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for the acts of your bank, the card networks, payment methods or your customers, including declined payments.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, and our total liability under these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and AMD 50,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability the law does not allow to be limited.
Indemnity
You will compensate us for claims, fines and costs brought against us by third parties, including your customers, your bank and authorities, that arise from your business, your sales or your breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes we will tell you by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Lynq after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, close your account before they apply.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. If a dispute arises, contact us first and we will try to resolve it together. Any dispute we cannot resolve will be decided by the courts of the Republic of Armenia.
General
These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Lynq. If part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part of them is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your account or these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale of our business.
